The Cozinha Solidária (Solidarity Kitchen) project was launched in 2020 as an immediate response to the lockdown imposed during COVID-19, and has since grown into a project that now runs four Solidarity Kitchens. The project has continued to expand in response to the economic challenges that many people continue to face today.

The Kitchens’ activity consists of producing and distributing still-hot meals to people in situations of social vulnerability. Volunteers take part in preparing the meals, which are then distributed with the support of REFOOD to its beneficiaries, who are identified and supported by local social services.
